The Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, used in conjunction with Adobe InDesign, provides a complete solution for creating and publishing cutting-edge, interactive content for tablet devices without having to write code or rely on developers.

If you have InDesign CS5 or later, you already have everything you need to create digital cutting-edge magazines, brochures and similar publications for viewing on tablet devices, including iPads, Androids and BlackBerry Playbooks. (You will need to download the digital publishing tools, but these are free of charge.) You can preview your publications on your own computer and mobile devices, and share them with other people. There is no requirement to write code or rely on developers.

If you want to distribute your digital publications, the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite provides three options:

		Single Edition: a one-off fee (under £300 at time of writing, Feb. 2012) is payable to Adobe. This lets you distribute one digital publication (referred to as a 'folio') to iPad users through the Apple App Store.
		Professional Edition: a monthly fee is payable to Adobe. This lets you publish an unlimited number of digital titles through the Apple App Store and Amazon Store to users of iPads, Androids and BlackBerry Playbooks.
		Enterprise Edition: Includes everything in Professional edition, plus additonal tools and features relevant to large organisations. Pricing available from Adobe.

Our Introduction to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite training course teaches how to:

		Create feature-rich digital publications optimized for viewing on tablet devices.
		Use the Single Edition to publish them to iPads through the Apple App Store.

You learn how to incorporate a range of visual effects in your digital publications, including:

		Pan, zoom and pinch.
		Animations, movies and sound.
		Hyperlinks, buttons and rollovers.
		Panoramics.

This is an Adobe-accredited course. The trainer is a highly experienced, Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI), accredited by Adobe to provide training in the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite.

Course objectives

To teach how to create feature-rich, cutting-edge interactive content for tablet devices, and then distribute your digital titles through the Apple App Store to iPad users using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition.

Who should attend?

InDesign users who want to begin publishing titles digitally.

Prerequisites

Delegates should have:

		A good working knowledge of InDesign, e.g. have attended Introduction to Adobe InDesign training or be at that level. If you're not familiar with InDesign, a reduced fee is available if you attend both our Introduction to InDesign and Introduction to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite courses. Our two day Introduction to InDesign course is usually scheduled to run immediately before Introduction to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, giving the delegates of attending both courses in four consecutive days.
		An understanding of image creation techniques using Creative Suite applications, e.g. Photoshop.

Delegates are encouraged to bring along their own mobile devices to review their output, but this isn't essential.

Whilst you won't need bring an Apple Mac along to the course, a Mac will be required in your workplace to distribute your titles through the Apple App Store using the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, Single Edition.

Method of delivery

Adobe Digital Publishing Suite training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Delegates have ample opportunity to discuss their specific requirements and issues with the trainer.

Courseware and certification

Armada is an Adobe Authorised Training Centre (AATC), and our Introduction to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite training course follows the syllabus specified by Adobe.

Delegates receive official training courseware and content from Adobe Training Services to use throughout the course, and as a refresher afterwards.

Delegates also receive a certificate confirming they have attended and successfully completed Digital Publishing Suite training.

Trainer details

The trainer for this course is an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI), accredited by Adobe to provide Adobe Digital Publishing Suite training.

After course support

Delegates are entitled to 30 days email support from their trainer to help with any post-training issues.
