Advanced Adobe FrameMaker training

To teach further useful features when working in unstructured mode, including producing books comprised of multiple documents, using variables generating a table of contents and index, and inserting cross-references.
Who should attend?
Advanced FrameMaker training is suitable for delegates who have attended our Basic and Intermediate Adobe FrameMaker training course, and experienced FrameMaker users who are looking to learn the additional techniques covered in the advanced syllabus.
Advanced FrameMaker training courses are scheduled to follow each Basic and Intermediate Adobe FrameMaker training course, so delegates have the option of attending Basic, Intermediate and Advanced FrameMaker training in three consecutive days.

Migrating from Unstructured to Structured FrameMaker with DITA
Duration
Three days.
Course objectives
To teach users familiar with FrameMaker in unstructured (standard) mode how to begin taking advantage of FrameMaker's structured capabilities.
The course teaches how to work with structured templates conforming to DITA, introducing key concepts such as elements (container and object) and EDDs. It is designed as a starting point for organisations migrating to structured FrameMaker with DITA, providing an overview of what is needed in planning such a migration and teaching the techniques you need to know.
Please be aware that such a migration can be a large undertaking, requiring significant setup and configuration.
Prerequisites
Delegates should know how to use FrameMaker in unstructured mode, being familiar with the techniques taught in our Basic and Intermediate and Advanced FrameMaker training courses.
Scheduled or on-demand?
Migrating from Unstructured to Structured FrameMaker with DITA training is provided on-demand (one-to-one or for your group). We do not currently offer this course on a scheduled basis.

Adobe-accredited Framemaker training courses
Armada is an Adobe Authorised Training Centre (AATC), and our FrameMaker trainingcourses are Adobe-accredited. Delegates receive a certificate confirming they have attended and successfully completed FrameMaker training.
Method of delivery
Framemaker training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Class numbers are small, providing ample opportunity to discuss your specific requirements with the trainer.
The trainer
Framemaker training is hosted by an Adobe Certified Instructor who is an Adobe Certified Expert in FrameMaker.
Courseware
Delegates receive comprehensive Adobe courseware to refer to throughout the course, and to use as a refresher following the course.
After course support
Delegates are entitled to 30 days email support from their trainer to help with any post-training issues.

Which versions of Adobe FrameMaker are covered?
Scheduled FrameMaker training courses are currently based on FrameMaker 10 (as contained in Adobe Technical Communication Suite 2). Most of the techniques taught are also relevant to FrameMaker 9.
On-demand FrameMaker courses can be based on any recent version of FrameMaker.
Migrating from Unstructured to Structured FrameMaker with DITA training can be based on any recent version, and can cater for you upgrading from one version of FrameMaker to another as part of your migration.
