Adobe InDesign is the industry standard tool for laying out pages for print, and it provides everything you need to develop and publish content for playback on iPad and Android tablets.

Armada offers InDesign training courses to users at all levels at our venues in Birmingham, Reading, Milton Keynes and Sheffield.

Introduction to Adobe InDesign training (2 days)

Provides a thorough grounding in page layout skills using Adobe InDesign. Delegates build knowledge and confidence using InDesign's key features, learning how to create effective page layouts quickly. Sessions include setting up new documents, shapes, frames and placeholders, textual content, formatting text, working with styles, placing images, using layers, creating special effects, tables, object libraries and preflighting.

This course is ideal for newcomers to InDesign, and those with limited InDesign experience.

Prerequisites: No prior InDesign knowledge is necessary.

Introduction to Adobe InDesign training is available on-request, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our venues in Bromsgrove, Reading, Milton Keynes or Sheffield, or yours anywhere in the UK.

Advanced Adobe InDesign training (1 day)

In this course, we delve deeper to explore various powerful but seldom discussed features that will prove invaluable whether you are a layout artist or a graphic designer. The techniques you will learn include:

Handling colour with confidence.

Harnessing the power of stylesheets.

Streamlining your workflow and improving productivity, to get a greater return on investment.

Advanced InDesign training is ideal for existing InDesign users who want to take their use of the application to the next level.

Whilst we have a standard syllabus for this course, as far as possible we tailor the training to focus on the techniques of interest to the delegates in attendance. Our trainer discusses this with the group at the start of the course.

At the end of the course, we run an open session looking at topics requested by delegates, answering any questions you have and looking at areas you're having problems with.

Prerequisites: Delegates should have attended our Introduction to Adobe InDesign training course, or have equivalent knowledge through other means.

InDesign for fixed-layout EPUBS training (1 day)

Teaches how to develop graphically-rich fixed-layout ePub books incorporating graphics, audio, video and interactive elements for reading on tablets, laptops, mobiles and desktop computers. The course covers the techniques for generating, testing and validating fixed-layout EPUBS, and explores the various distribution options available including email, website and stores, e.g. the Apple App Store.

Delegates should be familiar with the fundamentals of InDesign, i.e. have attended Introduction to Adobe InDesign training or have equivalent knowledge.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our centres or your venue anywhere in the UK. Training can be based on any recent version of InDesign. Scheduled (public) courses are not available.

InDesign for reflowable EPUBS training (1 day)

This course focuses on the toolset you use to develop reflowable EPUBS that are primarily text-based, but with some images on a restrictive basis, as required for viewing on Kindles and Nexus eReaders. You learn how to create correctly formatted EPUBS that can be submitted to eStores and distributed via download.

Delegates should be familiar with the fundamentals of InDesign, i.e. have attended Introduction to Adobe InDesign training or have equivalent knowledge.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our centres or your venue anywhere in the UK. Training can be based on any recent version of InDesign. Scheduled (public) courses are not available.

General course information

Method of delivery

InDesign training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Delegates have ample opportunity to discuss their specific requirements with the trainer.

Accredited InDesign training

Armada is an Adobe Authorised Training Centre (AATC), accredited by Adobe to provide InDesign training.

Certificate

Delegates receive an e-certificate confirming successful completion of accredited InDesign training.

Expert trainers

Our InDesign trainers are Adobe Certified Instructors and Adobe Certified Experts in InDesign with vast experience of using the application commercially.

After course support

Delegates are entitled to 30 days' email support from their InDesign trainer to help with any post-course issues.

Cancellations
