SOLAR and AMS Webhelp samples

ACMS UK are an asbestos management solutions company. Two of their products are, SOLAR and AMS, designed to make asbestos tracking and logging simple and efficient.

SOLAR is a system that allows easy access to asbestos information and detail – either on-site or on-line.

AMS is a system that sits on your desktop and provides a tool for storage and review of asbestos data. AMS can function either independently with SOLAR or alongside it in a supporting role.

ACMS commissioned Armada to develop two help centres, one for each piece of software.

Approach

ACMS requested that the help centres reflect the corporate colours and software specific identity of each piece of software. However, because the two systems are able to function alongside each other, we also recognised a need to standardise the terminology and approach across both help centres to reflect the similarities and differences in the two systems.

The ideal solution in this case was to use web-enabled online help. This allowed us to match the corporate colours and styles of ACMS whilst giving us the freedom to specialise each help center to reflect it's corresponding software.

Help topic layout and language were standardised as much as possible across both help centres to avoid unnecessary confusion for users of both SOLAR and AMS.
