SketchUp is a 3D modelling application used in a wide range of industries including architectural, interior design, civil and mechanical engineering, film, and video game design.

Armada offers SketchUp training courses at our venues in Birmingham/Bromsgrove, Reading, Milton Keynes and Sheffield.

Introduction to SketchUp training (2 days)

Teaches the fundamentals of 3D modelling in SketchUp. You learn how to:

Creating 3D models in SketchUpCreate 3D models.

SketchUp version: Training is based primarily on SketchUp . The techniques taught are relevant to all recent versions of SketchUp. All of the techniques taught in this course are relevant to SketchUp Pro; most are also relevant to SketchUp Make.

Prerequisites: Delegates should have a working knowledge of Windows®. No prior CAD knowledge is necessary.

On-request training

Introduction to SketchUp training is available on-request, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our venues in Bromsgrove, Reading, Milton Keynes or Sheffield, or yours anywhere in the UK.

Intermediate SketchUp training (2 days)

Building on the basics, this course teaches how to use SketchUp Pro's more sophisticated features and commands for producing 3D models and visualisations of the quality associated with more expensive applications. Sessions cover:

Using SketchUp to create and edit textures, scenes and stylesCreating and editing textures, scenes and styles.

Delegates also learn a range of tips and tricks for becoming more productive when using SketchUp.

Prerequisites: Delegates should have a basic understanding of SketchUp, i.e. be familiar with the techniques taught in our Introduction to SketchUp course.

The course can be tailored for each client to be relevant to the type of models and visualisations required. Scheduled (public) Intermediate SketchUp courses are not yet available.

SketchUp - Rendering using V-Ray training (2 days)

Learn how to use SketchUp in conjunction with V-Ray to create highly realistic 3D architectural and interior design scenes incorporating features such as:

LightingLighting (daylight, sunlight and skylight).

Reflective surfacesReflective surfaces.

Moving camerasMoving cameras.

This course is highly practical and hands-on; delegates carry out exercises throughout to practice the techniques taught.

Software: The techniques taught in this course require both SketchUp Pro and V-Ray.

Prerequisites: Delegates should have a good working knowledge of SketchUp, i.e. be familiar with the techniques taught in our Introduction to SketchUp course. No prior V-Ray knowledge is required.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our centres or your venue anywhere in the UK. The course can be tailored for each client to be relevant to the type of models and visualisations required. Scheduled (public) SketchUp - Rendering using V-Ray courses are not yet available.

Please note: this training relates to the use of the V-Ray renderer in conjunction with SketchUp only. If you're going to be using V-Ray with Autodesk software such as 3ds Max and Maya, see V-Ray training.

SketchUp - Rendering using LightUp training (2 days)

Learn how to create highly realistic 3D architectural and interior design scenes in SketchUp using this alternative plug-in that provides fast and simple real-time rendering within the SketchUp window, plus an interactive model you can share with your own customers.

You learn techniques for incorporating the features you require in your scenes including lighting, reflective surfaces, moving cameras, and so on.

Software: The techniques taught in this course require both SketchUp Pro and the LightUp plug-in.

Prerequisites: Delegates should have a good working knowledge of SketchUp, i.e. be familiar with the techniques taught in our Introduction to SketchUp course. No prior LightUp knowledge is required.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our centres or your venue anywhere in the UK. The course can be tailored for each client to be relevant to the type of models and visualisations required. Scheduled (public) SketchUp - Rendering using LightUp courses are not yet available.

Method of delivery

SketchUp training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Delegates have ample opportunity to discuss their specific requirements with the trainer.

SketchUp courses are hosted by experts in 3D modelling and CGI, who have been providing training of this type to industry for over 20 years.

After course support

Following SketchUp training, delegates are entitled to 30 days' email support from their SketchUp trainer to help with any post-course issues.

Cancellations
