Carl's career began as a technical apprentice at The Hymatic Eng. Co., a leading aerospace company. At Hymatic, Carl worked in the Production Engineering Dept. designing jigs, fixtures, gauges and machines, initially on a drawing board and then on a mainframe Hewlett Packard CAD system.
In 1987, Carl moved to Seco Tools where he designed special carbide insert cutters; it was here that Carl was introduced to AutoCAD (release 9).
In the 20 years since, Carl's career has been exclusively CAD-orientated. His achievements include:
Setting up and managing CAD (multiple systems) at one of the country's largest tool design companies, and training senior staff to use the systems. |
| |
Designing complete car plants. |
For the last 13 years, Carl has worked as a CAD designer, consultant and trainer. He also lectures in the use of AutoCAD for 3D modelling at a local college (City and Guilds).
