Civil 3D training teaching how to use the application’s manual and automatic tools for road design.

This course is aimed at Highway Engineer wishing to expand on the basic training and undertake some more advanced road and alignment design. Sessions include:

  • Junction design: learn to use the manual and automatic tools for designing junctions.
  • Roundabout design: learn the principles of roundabout design, and techniques for creating the tilted plane, and channel alignments and profiles.
  • Sub-Assembly Composer: learn to create simple and more complex sub-assemblies, and import PKT files into Civil 3D.

Civil 3D advanced road design training is arranged on-request, i.e. one-to-one training or a ‘closed course’ for your group. We can provide your training in-class at one of our centres, at your venue, or online.

Your training can be tailored to take into account any existing knowledge you have, and the work you’re going to be doing.

Been furloughed? You can still participate in training without this affecting your furloughed status, as confirmed on gov.uk.

In-class or online

In-class courses are now available to book again. We’re taking comprehensive measures to ensure your health and well-being – fewer people in-class, you won’t sit next to another person, comprehensive cleaning. To read more, see Covid-19 measures.

You can participate in this course online, from your place of work or home, at a discounted price. To read about how this works, see Live online training.

Accredited Civil 3D advanced road design training

Armada is an Autodesk Authorised Training Centre (ATC), and our Civil 3D advanced road design courses are accredited by Autodesk.

Civil 3D advanced road design courses are hosted by Philip Madeley, an Autodesk Certified Instructor, industry expert and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

How will I learn?

Civil 3D advanced road design training is hands-on and practical.

Our trainers teach the necessary theory then demonstrate techniques step-by-step. You then practice the techniques taught on a computer running Civil 3D.

There is plenty of time to ask questions, and you can take away all the files you create.

Training guide and certificate

Course delegates receive:

  • Comprehensive training notes, to refer to throughout the course and use as a refresher after.
  • An e-certificate confirming successful completion of an accredited Civil 3D training course. This is emailed to delegates directly from Autodesk.

After course support

Following Civil 3D advanced road design training, delegates are entitled to 30 days’ email support from their Civil 3D trainer to help with any post-course issues. For further details, see Support.

Prerequisites

Delegates should have a working knowledge of Civil 3D, and alignment design. If you don’t have this knowledge, we recommend you attending Civil 3D Essentials and Civil 3D alignment design training first.

Civil 3D version

Training can be based on any recent version of Civil 3D to suit you.
