Adobe Firefly is a suite of generative AI tools used by creatives to create images, vector graphics, video and audio from simple text prompts and other inputs.
This short course provides a thorough grounding, teaching techniques to unlock the creative power of Adobe’s AI tools, helping you design faster, work smarter and explore new creative possibilities.
You’ll learn to use all key tools in the Adobe Firefly web app for generating images, vector graphics, video, sound effects and speech, and mood boards. You’ll also learn to use the Firefly AI tools available in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

This course is ideal for newcomers to Adobe Firefly, and those with limited experience. It is ideal for:

How will I learn?
Adobe Firefly training is hands-on and practical.
Our trainers teach the necessary theory then demonstrate techniques step-by-step. Exercises then provide activity-based experience to build your confidence.
There’s plenty of time to ask questions, and you can keep all the files you create.
In-class or online
This course is available in-class at eight centres or live online.
Course times are 9.30am–4.30pm in both formats.

How will I learn?
Training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice.
Practical exercises provide activity-based experience. These exercises can be tailored to deal with issues specific to your business. You have ample opportunity to discuss specific requirements with the trainer.
Browser or Firefly app?
This course focusses on key features available in the Firefly web app, and the Firefly AI Tools in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
Most of the techniques taught are transferrable to the Firefly app for mobile devices, though we cover specifically refer to the use of the app.
Training guide and certificate
Course delegates receive:
- Comprehensive training materials, to refer to throughout the course and to use as a refresher back in the work-place. Choose from a printed guide or a PDF.
- An e-certificate confirming successful completion of a Firefly training course.
After course support
Following Firefly training, delegates are entitled to 30 days’ email support from their trainer to help with any post-course issues. For further details, see Support.
Prerequisites
No prior Firefly experience is required.
A basic knowledge of the application(s) with which you’re going to use Firefly, e.g. Adobe InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator, is required.

Simon Dry
Simon is a highly-experienced design professional and AI expert, whose previous roles have included Designer, Project Manager and Creative Director. He has expert knowledge of a range of applications, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, hosting courses in these applications at all levels. Simon continues to work as a graphic designer, working on a variety of projects for Blue-Chip clients in areas including press and digital ads, photography, website design, social media.
Simon is at the forefront of AI development, focussing on ways that the emerging technology can be utilised by business to improve productivity and maximise potential. He has expert knowledge of a wide range of AI tools, including ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Copilot and Midjourney.
Marek Mularczyk
Marek is an Adobe Design, Video and Motion Specialist, and an Adobe Certified Instructor (ACI).
He has specialist knowledge of the key Adobe Creative applications: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Premiere, as well as Adobe Express and Firefly.
Voted as one of top 10 Adobe Certified Instructors in the world, Marek has over 15 years’ experience as an animator and photo/video editor, and has published numerous books on these topics.
As an instructor, Marek has trained a wide range of blue-chip clients including Lloyds, Barclays, HS2, Lululemon, Asos, Boohoo, Sony, Samsung, and many more.
Prior to focusing on training, Marek worked as a professional photographer for over 12 years. Photography remains his passion, and in his spare time he travels Europe in search of that perfect picture.

Online training lets you participate in a live Firefly course from your place of work or home.

All you need is an Internet-connected computer with…
- Firefly installed. If you don’t have access to Firefly, we can usually send you a link to fully-functional trial software to download and install.
- A webcam and audio capability. If your computer running Firefly doesn’t have these, you can use a second device, such as another computer or tablet. See Hardware recommendations for live online training for further details.
If there’s anything you’re not sure about we’ll do our best to help you. We won’t, however, be able to assist with your Firefly installation.
