MadCap Flare is a state-of-the-art, XML-based solution for online help development. Help can be generated in a variety of output formats, suitable for viewing on computers and mobile devices. Flare also offers sophisticated single-sourcing when both online help and a printed guide are required.

Basic and Intermediate MadCap Flare training (3 days)

Teaches how to use Flare to create a working help project with media-rich content and full navigation features. You learn how to work efficiently and effectively with Flare, becoming familiar with features including variables, conditional text and multi-format publishing.

MadCap Flare version: Training is currently based on Flare . Most of the techniques taught are also relevant to other recent versions of Flare.

Prerequisites: Delegates should have a working knowledge of Windows® and basic word processing techniques. No prior MadCap Flare knowledge is necessary.

Basic and Intermediate MadCap Flare training is available on-request, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our venues in the Birmingham area or your venue anywhere in the UK.

Advanced MadCap Flare training - Single sourcing (1 day)

Focuses on the processes for producing multiple outputs, e.g. print and online, from a single Flare project source.

Delegates should be familiar with the fundamentals of Flare, i.e. have attended Basic and Intermediate MadCap Flare training or have equivalent knowledge.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our venues or yours anywhere in the UK. Training can be based on any recent version of Flare. Scheduled (public) courses are not available.

Advanced MadCap Flare training - Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) (1 day)

Teaches the use of styles and stylesheets in MadCap Flare for efficient and consistent formatting. Upon completion, you will be able to exploit the full richness of CSS for formatting your information within Flare. As a result, your help topics will look more professional and will be easier to maintain.

Delegates should be familiar with the fundamentals of Flare, i.e. have attended Basic and Intermediate MadCap Flare training or have equivalent knowledge.

Advanced MadCap Flare - Project Management and Team Authoring (1 day)

Teaches best practices and efficient project management to anyone who is using MadCap Flare in a team authoring environment. This course is ideal for:

Project Managers and Team Leaders who are managing a team.

Technical writers and documentation professionals working as part of a team.

Delegates should be familiar with the fundamentals of Flare, i.e. have attended Basic and Intermediate MadCap Flare training or have equivalent knowledge.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our venues or yours anywhere in the UK. Training can be based on any recent version of Flare. Scheduled (public) courses are not available.

Advanced MadCap Flare training - Migrating from RoboHelp (1 or 2 days)

Teaches the recommended procedures for a controlled migration of your legacy documentation from RoboHelp to MadCap Flare. Upon completion, you will be equipped to migrate your existing projects and workflows from RoboHelp to MadCap Flare in a smooth and well-planned way, avoiding the potential pitfalls.

No previous experience of working with Flare is required - however, delegates should be familiar with RoboHelp as taught in our Introduction to Adobe RoboHelp course, or have equivalent knowledge.

This course can be run over one or two days, depending on the extent to which you want to learn how to use MadCap Flare to replicate the techniques incorporated in your RoboHelp project.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our venues or yours anywhere in the UK. Training can be based on any recent version of Flare. Scheduled (public) courses are not available.

Advanced MadCap Flare training - Migrating from FrameMaker (1 or 2 days)

Method of delivery

MadCap Flare training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Delegates have ample opportunity to discuss their specific requirements with the trainer.

Accredited Flare training

All Flare training is MadCap-accredited.

MadCap Courseware and certificate

Delegates attending MadCap Flare training receive MadCap's official courseware to refer to throughout the course, and to use as a refresher afterwards. Delegates receive a MadCap certificate confirming they have attended and successfully completed MadCap-accredited Flare training.

Expert trainer

Our MadCap Flare training courses are hosted by a MadCap Certified Instructor with over 20 years' experience as a user assistance and e-learning professional in the software industry.

After course support

Following MadCap Flare training, delegates are entitled to 30 days' email support from their MadCap Flare trainer to help with any post-course issues.

Payment

Payment for scheduled Basic and Intermediate MadCap Flare course places is made directly to MadCap. Payment can be made by electronic transfer or credit/debit card. Please email sales@madcapsoftware.com for further details.

Cancellations

If a company or delegate cancels a MadCap Flare training course booking giving less than 10 working days' notice, a cancellation fee is payable.
