SolidWorks Essentials training (3 days)

Provides a thorough grounding in SolidWorks for beginners, teaching everything you need to know to build parametric models of parts and assemblies. This course is ideal for newcomers to SolidWorks, and users familiar with a different 3D modelling tool looking to migrate to SolidWorks.

Topics covered include:

Introduction to sketching

Basic part modelling

Modelling a casting or forging

Patterning

Revolved features

Shelling and ribs

Editing: Repairs

Editing: Design changes

Configurations

Using drawings

Bottom-Up assembly modelling

Using assemblies

Templates

Throughout the course you'll learn tips for increasing your productivity with the tool.

Prerequisites: Some past mechanical design experience is useful but not essential. Experience working with a 2D CAD tool is not required.

This course is available on-request only, i.e. one-to-one training or a course for your group, at one of our centres or your venue anywhere in the UK. Training can be based on any recent version of SolidWorks. Scheduled (public) courses are not available.

Method of delivery

SolidWorks training combines lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice. Delegates have ample opportunity to discuss their specific requirements with the trainer.

An e-certificate confirming successful completion of a SolidWorks training course.

Expert trainers

Our SolidWorks trainers have a background in engineering, and vast experience of 3D parametric part and assembly design for industry.

Course times

9.30am-4.30pm.

Version

SolidWorks training is based primarily on SolidWorks . The techniques taught are relevant to all recent versions of SolidWorks.

After course support

Following SolidWorks training, delegates are entitled to 30 days support by email to help with any post-course issues.

Cancellations

If a company or delegate cancels a SolidWorks training course booking giving less than 10 working days' notice, a cancellation fee is payable. View cancellation terms.
