Training during lockdown
Armada continues to host training courses during lockdown.
With all of our courses, you have the option of attending in-person or participating online.
During lockdown, we encourage people to participate in our courses online wherever possible. However, if this isn’t possible for any reason, or if online training doesn’t work for you, you can still choose to attend our courses in-class.
When you attend training at our centres, our top priority is your health and well-being. We’ve implemented comprehensive cleansing and social distancing measures, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that all necessary precautions have been taken. For details, see Covid-19 measures.
Do Government lockdown requirements allow us to continue to offer in-class training?
One of the specific purposes for which you can leave your home during the lockdown period that began on 5 November 2020 is:
Education and childcare
You can leave home for education (formal provision, rather than extracurricular classes such as music or drama tuition), training, registered childcare…

Why are we open?
The vast majority of Armada’s course delegates are:
- People who need to learn a new skill quickly to perform a specific role or function at work.
- People looking to upskill, to enhance their career prospects and find a new position.
Many of our course delegates are key workers such as NHS staff.
Training for occupational purposes remains a priority for the Government as part of its commitment to keep the economy going.
Can I attend training if I have been furloughed?
If you have been notified you are an employee on furlough, while you are not able to work for your employer, you can undertake training. This does not affect your furloughed status, or your employer’s entitlement to claim through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
